The KGC Series is the easiest to apply and repair but has a slightly different look than the EKU Series. In general the EKU Series is the deepest, wettest, look but most difficult to spray and repair. We offer candy in four forms 2K urethane candy (EKU Series), Candy Basecoat (EKB Series), Pearlized Candy Basecoat (KGC Series), and Candy Dye Concentrates (EKK Series). If you are concerned about the longevity of candy paints you might consider some of our transparent 3 stage pearl and metallic finishes that have the look of candy with excellent durability. Vehicles that spend all day, every day in the sun can fade substantially over a 2-3 year period whereas many show vehicles that are garage kept and used for shows and cruising will last for 5-10 years+. The longevity depends on the amount of candy applied, which and how much clear is used, and how much time the vehicle spends outside in the sun. True candy paints like our EyeKandy candy paints are made from dyes which provide a deeper, richer color than normal automotive paints but typically fade faster than our traditional solid, metallic, and pearlescent colors.
